Quéribus & Peyrepertuse : The eagle nests

Do not miss the most impressive and most visited military fortresses of the region , Quéribus & Peyrepertuse, two of the five “sons of Carcassonne”.
Built at ~800 meters high on rocky outcrops, the properly called “vertigo citadels” offer a breathtaking panoramic view on the entire region including the pyrenées chain and even the Mediterranean coastline on clear days.

In Between the two ake a rest to enjoy a good lunch in a gorgeous restaurant at the foot of “Peyrpertusa” the pierced stone in Occitan language, also well-named “the celestial Carcassonne “.
