Wander through the picturesque and magnificent medieval streets, then stop a moment, breathe deeply ,relax, and feell the friendly market atmosphere.. Then why not taste some local products , maybe the cheeses with a crusty bread along with a home made Saucisson and a glass of wine… or maybe if it’s too early how about enjoying a delicious croissants with a good cofee at a lovely Bar terrace ? Revel : Built in the 14th century, Revel is a typical medieval fortified town situated in the heart of the Pays de Cocagne, the . Lined with galleries and with old houses, the main square of Revel possesses a beautiful covered market hall topped by a bell tower at its centre. Saturdays mornings are very busy with the magnificent farmer market taking place (since the 14th century ..) under the hall. This market is among the hundred most beautiful markets in France. In winter, duck and goose fairs (Foires au Gras) will delight fans of food products from south-west France.
Lagrasse Nestling at the heart of the Corbières, this picturesque village with its old humpback bridge over the Orbieu, its medieval houses, the remains of ancient ramparts and its abbey-founded in the 8th century, is classed amongst the most beautiful in France. you will surely admire the old 14th-century covered market with stone pillars, art and craft shops and of course the numerous producers
Mirepoix : From its medieval past it has preserved a 14th-century fortified gate and a stunning market square surrounded by beautiful half-timbered houses (especially the Maison des Consuls for its typical medieval wood carvings) with arcaded walkways below the first floors. The café terraces, shops and traditional market on Monday mornings make it a lovely spot to visit. Next to the square stands the beautiful southern French Gothic-style Saint-Maurice cathedral with a vast 48-metre long and 22-metre wide nave
